Arsenal are desperate to add Fiorentina talisman Dusan Vlahovic to their ranks in the January transfer window and are willing to break the bank in order to do so
Arsenal will reportedly have to give Dusan Vlahovic a £300,000-per-week wage if they want to sign the in-demand striker this month.

The Gunners are desperate to add the talisman to their ranks in the current window and are willing to break the bank in order to do so.

Mikel Arteta has identified Vlahovic as their number one target after his meteoric rise at Fiorentina, scoring a record-tying 33 Serie A goals in 2021.

And the Daily Mail claims the 21-year-old will demand a £300,000-per-week pay packet if he is to make the move to the Emirates.

Fiorentina have also slapped a £58million price tag on their prized asset who has 18 months left on his current deal.

It's been claimed that the Serbian has rejected Arsenal's initial approach, however, as the player wants to weigh up his options in the summer.

He also wants his next club to be playing consistently in the Champions League, something that Arteta's men cannot guarantee after their eighth-place finish last season.

Arsenal will have stiff competition for Vlahovic's signature as Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham have all been linked with the forward.

The hitman would love to work under Antonio Conte at Spurs, but the north Londoners are in the same boat as their city rivals, currently outside of Europe's flagship tournament.

Arteta has admitted that his side are "open" to doing a big deal in this window as the club are desperate for attacking reinforcements.

“If it’s the right player, we can afford and we can do want we want to do, we will discuss it and come to the best possible decision. We are open,” he said.

Dusan Vlahovic is in high demand in the January transfer window
“I think with the amount of things and the way we want to evolve the squad, we have to maximise every window in many different ways.

“We are alert. (Technical director) Edu and his team are working very hard because we know exactly what we need to do.

“Whether we can accomplish that in January or the summer is a different question and related to lots of other stuff but we are there.”
