While the January transfer window may have just slammed shut, Barcelona have already started planning their operations for the summer.
Now, it seems like the Blaugrana are plotting a move for another soon-to-be free agent in the summer, with Paulo Dybala emerging as a target. According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Barcelona are keen on making a swoop for the Argentine international later this year.

The 28-year-old has been with Juventus since 2015 when he arrived from Palermo and has enjoyed great success in Turin. While he did struggle for form in the past couple of campaigns, he has rediscovered his mojo this term under Massimiliano Allegri.

However, Dybala’s contract with the Bianconeri stands to expire at the end of the season. And, talks over a new deal have not gone according to plans leading to question marks over his future at the Allianz Stadium.

And, Barcelona have now entered the fray to try and secure his signing. Ousmane Dembele will be leaving the club at the end of the campaign when his deal runs out while the likes of Luuk de Jong, Martin Braithwaite and Memphis Depay all have uncertain futures at Camp Nou.

So, even with the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, there will be space for new attackers to come into the fold. And, someone like Dybala, who has proven his quality for years would be a shrewd signing for the Catalan giants, especially given his free-agent status.

But a move would depend on the Argentine international’s wage demands. His salary requests have been the reason behind contract talks with Juventus stalling. So, whether he would be willing to lower his demands would dictate if Barcelona can sign him.
