Leeds United 2-4 Manchester United

The possibility of a tame, measured contest appeared doubtful - and rightfully so - when Leeds United and Manchester United went out into a cacophonous maelstrom of noise and pounding rain at Elland Road.

Leeds came out blazing in the first half, but Manchester United dominated the second, taking advantage of the holes left by Leeds' roaming midfield and the frailties of their fragile defence.

By half-time, goals from Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes, both of which exploited Leeds' fragile defence, appeared to have cowed the hosts and their vociferous supporters.

However, Marcelo Bielsa's side came alive in the second half, scoring twice in the space of two minutes as Manchester United threw away yet another advantage.

Ralf Rangnick's team, on the other hand, were far from out, and in the 70th minute, substitute Fred restored their advantage.

Substitute Anthony Elanga added a second late in the game to give United an important three points in their quest for fourth place.
