Chelsea scouts reportedly watched Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk earlier this week playing for Ukraine.

Scotland beat Ukraine 3-0 on Wednesday night in the Nations League, which was a game that actually welcomed a lot of Premier League scouts.

According to 90min, more than half of Premier League clubs had representatives present to watch the midweek international fixture.

The report mentions that Chelsea and Arsenal were solely at Hampden Park to examine Mudryk.

Chelsea scouts watched Mudryk
Mudryk, who’s enjoyed a brilliant start to the 2022/23 season with club side Shakhtar, is an exciting attacker whose reputation is growing.

The left-winger has two goals in two Champions League appearances so far this campaign, scoring against both RB Leipzig and Celtic in the group stages.

Described recently as “rapid” by Chris Sutton, the 21-year-old is an eye-catching forward player with great pace and trickery.

Premier League club Everton actually made a €30million (£26million) bid in the summer transfer window for Mudryk, something which Shakhtar’s sporting director Darijo Srna confirmed. However, the Ukrainian giants rejected the offer to keep their prized asset and rising star.

If the youngster keeps shining on the Champions League stage, it should give Shakhtar even more ammunition to drive his price tag up higher.

Chelsea did a great job reinforcing their wide options in the summer with the signing of Raheem Sterling, who’s hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge.

However, the likes of Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech still need to do more in Chelsea colours.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Graham Potter feels his Blues squad needs more attacking reinforcements in upcoming windows. For now, Chelsea’s new head coach will be getting to know his players
